I love Autumn in Sioux Falls as the weather is so inviting for outdoor activities and so much going on downtown. My wife and I spent our Friday evening listening to one of our favorite local bands, Sugar Daddy. The band was playing at the downtown bar Wiley's from 7 PM to 11 PM and I was there for most of it. By the time we left the bar, the younger crowd was moving in to dance to some music via a live DJ.

For our Saturday afternoon and evening, we once again explored downtown Sioux Falls and the neighboring Steel District. This time, we brought our dog along, as most restaurants and bars are dog-friendly and offer outdoor seating during this time of year. During our walk, we also visited our city’s waterfall. It had been years since I had been to the upper level of the Falls, but it was just as inviting now, with activities available in the upper section as well as the lower ones. Our dog, Jasmine, was less impressed with the new development and simply wanted to keep walking.
With nice weather, our walk eventually took us to a couple local breweries, Severance Brewing Company and Fernson Downtown. As luck would have it, Fernson was also sponsoring an Octoberfest so we ended up with a few more beers there and staying there longer than expected. Our night was capped off by having dinner over at the Blarney Stone Irish Pub across the street.
Both Karen and I may be semi-retired, but no one can claim they find us boring on wonderful Autumn days like this.
